NEWS: Ric Flair is on life nine. In his latest exclusive interview with People magazine, the 16-time World Champion details his latest health scare that nearly claimed his life. The People magazine exclusive featured Flair's fiance, Wendy Barlow (f.k.a. FiFi the Maid in WCW), who stated,
"The day he told me he had a stomach ache and it was really bad and he didn't feel good and we had to go was the day that saved his life, because he was slowly dying."
Flair was suffering from multiple organ failure and bowels that were dying. He was placed in a medically induced coma in a last ditch effort to save his life while doctors rushed to treat his dying body. Doctors told Flair's family that the 2-time WWE Hall of Famer only had a 20 percent chance to live. Flair was one of the few lucky ones that survive such an ordeal and it has already drastically changed his life,
"I didn’t think I was an alcoholic, but obviously I was. I’ll never drink again. I never want to go through this again."
It was an unlikely rival that challenged Ric to turn his health scare into a positive. Hulk Hogan wrote Flair the following in a touching letter,
"The number of your days shall be filled. Now is the time to tell your story, now is the time to help millions of people. You are the greatest wrestler I have ever seen and have the honor to call a real friend. Love you my brother, you are 'The Man.''
