NEWS: WWE Not Happy About John Cena's 2017 Schedule

NEWS: Publicly the WWE has supported John Cena, their most well known Superstar, as he has become increasingly engaged in the world of Hollywood outside of the wrestling ring. Privately; however, there has been growing concern over John Cena's decreased in-ring schedule and Cena's 2017 schedule has WWE's front office up in arms. John Cena will be even busier outside of the ring in 2017, which has many in the WWE concerned that John Cena has made the permanent transition to being a part timer. Cena was injured late last year, returned for a short time, and then took an extended time off to film his television show American Grit. Many in the WWE were hoping that, in light of his injury time off, Cena would have abandoned the American Grit project altogether and focus entirely on wrestling. Obviously this did not happen, as Cena has only shown an increased dedication to outside the ring projects. Our sources indicate that if John Cena continues to pursue other interests, he will be very much treated like a part timer and never again be taken seriously for title consideration. The WWE's plan was to have the Undertaker (another part-timer) beat A.J. Styles for the World Championship at the Royal Rumble to face the Royal Rumble winner (John Cena) at WrestleMania 33. John Cena was to have defeated the Undertaker and regain the WWE World Championship at that event. Those prospects, we are told, are now shaky at best. John Cena has not wrestled since October 9th's No Mercy PPV; but, will host Saturday Night Live for the first time ever this Saturday night.
