NEWS:

It was more than two years ago, at WWE's annual SummerSlam pay-per-view, that the company decided to anchor itself to the career of Finn Balor. Finn Balor was set to be the man and become the face of the WWE, but things didn't exactly work out according to plan, not exactly. Balor did indeed defeat Seth Rollins in the final round of a tournament to declare the first ever WWE Universal Champion. Balor would celebrate in the ring post-victory; however, the celebration would be short-lived. Only one day after winning the Title, Balor would head to RAW to announce that he was relinquishing the Universal Championship due to a shoulder injury he suffered in the match with Rollins. Kevin Owens would inevitably claim the coveted prize and Balor would be out of action for nearly eight months.

Since his WWE return, he has been a non-factor in the Universal Championship scene and has more often than not languished as a WWE mid-carder; however, that is all about to change according to Dave MeltzerThe Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Balor is set to receive "a significant push." There are no details yet on how that push will look, but Meltzer reports that it should last "at least a little while."

Balor has been stuck in WWE's no man's land for awhile now, but has shown, when given the opportunity, that he can excel in big-time matches. His match last year against AJ Styles at TLC was a show-stealer despite coming at very short notice, as Balor filled in for the ailing Roman Reigns.

Balor is currently mired in a feud against Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre, but with Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, and AJ Styles already on the roster, could WWE look at the reformation of The Bullet Club? WWE has become more lenient on its tee shirt policy regarding Bullet Club shirts and even focused on a fan wearing one during a recent RAW broadcast. It is not only possible, but likely especially given the worldwide popularity of the group and WWE's need to reclaim ratings success. The McMahon Family promised major changes and this would undoubtedly fall in line with that new philosophy.
