NEWS: Former WWE Superstar, A.J. Lee (April Mendez-Brooks), gave the keynote speech at this year's National Alliance on Mental Illness Conference. The conference, which took place in Mendez' home state of New Jersey, seeks to improve the lives of individuals and families struggling with mental illness through education, public awareness, and advocacy. Mendez struggles with bipolar disorder as documented in her autobiography, Crazy is My Super Power, as well as in her speech for NAMI. Lee last wrestled for the WWE in April 2015 where she reluctantly played the role of a mentally disturbed WWE Diva. Since her abrupt 2015 retirement, she has settled into her new life as a best selling author, mental illness advocate, and wife of MMA star and fellow former WWE Superstar CM Punk. Lee's inspirational NAMI speech is being lauded as one of the best ever at the annual conference and can be viewed in its entirety below.
