NEWS: WWE May Not Pay for Paige's Surgery

NEWS: Cheap Heat Wrestling reported that WWE and Paige are at odds over her recent neck injury and the best way to go about treating that injury. Paige is adamant about getting surgery, which would put her out of action for a minimum of 6-9 months. Sources inside the WWE believe the surgery is largely unnecessary and being done to give Paige an excuse not to show up for work. Sources within the WWE believe Paige would rather spend time with boyfriend, Alberto Del Rio, than honor her contractual obligations to wrestle. Those same sources are now confirming that the WWE is refusing to pay for Paige's neck surgery. Why is this significant? WWE wrestlers are private contractors and have no medical insurance apart from the good graces of the WWE. A procedure like this can effectively bankrupt Paige, if she is stuck footing the bill. The WWE seems stuck in its stance, which is effectively, "Our way or the highway," and they are assured that they have the legal right to do so.
