ON THIS DAY IN WRESTLING HISTORY: 6/28/1998 - At WWE King of the Ring, the Undertaker defeated Mick Foley (wrestling as Mankind) in a Hell in a Cell match. The bout would prove to be one of the most insanely brutal matches in WWE history. Foley would take two of the most violent falls in wrestling history, one in which he fell 16 feet from the top of the cage to the announcer's table. The fall was so brutal that shocked announcer Jim Ross stated, "Good God almighty! Good God almighty! That killed him! As God as my witness, he is broken in half." Foley was taken out in a stretcher; but, immediately returned to get back on top of the cage, where Undertaker choke slammed him through the top of the cage onto the unforgiving wrestling mat below. Foley's tooth could be seen protruding from his nose before Undertaker mercifully ended the historical bout with a Tombstone.
