FINAL CARD & PREDICTIONS: WWE Greatest Royal Rumble
FINAL CARD & PREDICTIONS:
4/27/28
WWE Greatest Royal Rumble
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander vs Kalisto
Cedric Alexander is who the WWE chose as the new face of a revamped Cruiserweight Division that finds itself without two of it's most popular stars in Neville and Enzo Amore. Alexander survived a months long tournament to defeat Mustafa Ali to become the new Cruiserweight Champion at WrestleMania 34. While former Cruiserweight Champion, Kalisto, is no slouch as a competitor, Alexander didn't survive all those months, nor was he coronated Cruiserweight Champion at WrestleMania just to lose the Title a few weeks later at The Greatest Royal Rumble. Look for a very good match that features all of the high flying, superior athleticism the Cruiserweight Division has become known for; however, look for Alexander to get the decisive clean pinfall victory.
WINNER: Cedric Alexander via pinfall
RAW Tag Team Championship Match
The Bar vs Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt
After their feud culminated in the Ultimate Deletion Match, Bray Wyatt disappeared. Drowned away in the Lake of Reincarnation, Wyatt resurrected devoid of the haunting Sister Abigail and with a newfound loyalty to Matt Hardy's Broken Universe. With their insane antics and equally bizarre promos, the duo are undoubtedly the most exciting team in RAW's tag team division. The Bar; however, have showed consistency or nothing at all. The former 4-time RAW Tag Team Champions have been in the RAW Title picture since their inception as a team shortly after the September 25, 2016 edition of Clash of Champions. These two understand tag team wrestling and have unparalleled chemistry, which is nothing short of amazing considering the two were established (and feuding) singles stars before teaming up. Everything The Bar has achieved, Hardy and Wyatt hope to repossess for themselves. Although The Bar have superior chemistry and in-ring ability, look for Hardy and Wyatt to dominate with sheer physicality....and madness, establishing themselves as the new force in RAW's tag team division.
WINNERS and NEW RAW Tag Team Champions: Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt
SD Tag Team Champions The Bludgeon Brothers vs The Usos
The Usos have been one of the most dominant tag teams in 2017 and 2018; however, when wrestling fans look up the word domination in the dictionary, it just might appear next to a picture of Luke Harper and Erik Rowan, The Bludgeon Brothers. While The Usos are one of the greatest tag teams in history, no one has matched The Bludgeon Brothers' sheer brutality and that won't change at The Greatest Royal Rumble. The Bludgeon Brothers will inevitably lose the SmackDown Tag Team Championships; but, it won't be tonight and it won't be The Usos who do it. Too big. Too strong. Too fast. Too good.
WINNERS: The Bludgeon Brothers via pinfall
United States Champion Jeff Hardy vs Jinder Mahal
On the April 16th edition of RAW, Jeff Hardy "shook up" the WWE by defeating Jinder Mahal for the United States Championship and then taking the Title to SmackDown Live. Likewise, Mahal was then brought over to RAW in the Superstar Shakeup. All of that predict the outcome of Mahal's rematch at The Greatest Royal Rumble. While the Punjabi Superstar will do everything in his power (and outside of the rulebook) to achieve victory, he will come up short and return to RAW title-less as no brand will attain both the Intercontinental Champion and the United States Championship simultaneously.
WINNER: Jeff Hardy via pinfall
Casket Match
The Undertaker vs Rusev
Will it happen or won't it happen? Will it be Rusev or will it be the returning Chris Jericho? This Casket Match has already gone several controversial and widely publicized changes; however, the WWE believes it has things settled now and the Bulgarian Brute gets the nod here over Y2J. At the age of 53, with a bad hip and bad knees to boot, The Undertaker usually only wrestles one match every year at WrestleMania. He doesn't add to his schedule and travel all the way to Saudi Arabia just to lose, especially not at his forte, the dreadfully terrifying Casket Match. Rusev predicted the finish to the match with a tweet, "Bury me softly," and The Phenom will oblige.
WINNER: The Undertaker
John Cena vs Triple H
John Cena has had a rough go of things as of late. He hasn't won a pay-per-view match in what seems like ions, with the latest loss coming in embarrassing fashion at WrestleMania 34 against The Undertaker. Cena challenged The Undertaker relentlessly and when The Dead Man finally answered Cena's challenge, he was woefully unprepared and lost in embarrassing jobber-like fashion. For the first time in years, John Cena was dominated and annihilated in the ring and on wrestling's grandest stage none the less. He comes to The Greatest Royal Rumble looking for redemption and it won't be easy with The Game standing in his wy. Also coming off a WrestleMania loss (to Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle) Triple H looks for his own redemption; but, does not compete in the wrestling ring as regularly as John Cena. Ever the businessman, look for Triple H to help re-establish value in what has been one of wrestling biggest stars over the last decade and a half.
WINNER: John Cena via pinfall
Fatal 4-Way Ladder Match
IC Champ Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor vs Samoa Joe vs The Miz
Any man can win this bout. Each are dangerous, clearly capable competitors, championship caliber performers that would eat their opponent's own heart out to achieve victory. The most dangerous, Samoa Joe, will use the icy cold steel of the ladder to his advantage and as a tool for brutalizing his undersized opponents. The Miz, ever the opportunist, will effectively pick his spots. Finn Balor, the superior aerialist will seemingly fly, performing in-air stunts that even birds dream of. Seth Rollins; however, has the momentum coming into this bout. He has recaptured that special something he had when he won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 31 and has lived up to his moniker Monday Night Rollins. Rollins has re-established himself as one of the WWE's top Superstars. Look for a close match, a brutal match, and a potential show stealer; but, look for The Architect to raise his hand atop the ladder in victory.
WINNER: Seth Rollins
WWE Champion A.J. Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura
Since losing to Styles at WrestleMania 34, Shinsuke Nakamura has become the WWE's King of the Low Blows. Hitting Styles several times with the technically illegal maneuver, he has never failed to incapacitate the WWE Champion. While Nakamura failed to live up to his promise to win the WWE Championship with a knee to Styles' face, the WrestleMania 34 Nakamura was a much different competitor. Now Nakamura has turned a new leaf and has become a terrifying heel capable of anything. Shinsuke was a dangerous competitor before; but, the newly turned Nakamura will be too much, even for A.J. Styles to withstand. Look for a distracted referee to miss a Shinsuke Nakamura low blow that inevitably leads to a pinfall victory.
WINNER and NEW WWE Champion: Shinsuke Nakamura via pinfall
Steel Cage Match
Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns
After three years of buildup, Roman Reigns failed at his quest to become Universal Champion at WrestleMania 34. Brock Lesnar dominated the bout and left Roman bloodied, bruised, and battered on the ring floor, in one of the Big Dog's most embarrassing moments to date. Reigns looked overmatched for the entirety of the match and at the whims of Lesnar's superior strength and physicality. Still, he survived and victory was no easy task for Brock Lesnar. After multiple suplexes and F-5's, Reigns was still in the match, refusing to succumb to a pinfall. While Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar remain outwardly confident, these facts might keep them up at night. As long as Roman Reigns stays in the match, he has an opportunity to hit a Spear and attain victory over The Beast. After years of building Roman Reigns, the WWE won't give up on him here. Look for Reigns to come out of this victorious before a Reigns-friendly Saudi Arabian crowd.
WINNER and NEW Universal Champion: Roman Reigns via pinfall
Greatest Royal Rumble Match
Chris Jericho returns for the largest Royal Rumble in history (50-men) as does Rey Mysterio and WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry. There will be other surprise returns no doubt and of course, the winners of WWE's recent Saudi Arabian tryouts. The Vegas favorite to win the match is the behemoth Braun Strowman. If Strowman can flip over trucks with ease, he certainly will have no difficulty eliminating fifty men, except perhaps for one. Daniel Bryan is no stranger to Goliath and has overcome the odds since his wrestling career began. Look for the WWE to send the Saudi Arabian crowd home happy as the 5'8" Daniel Bryan to eliminates the 6'8" 385 pound Braun Strowman to close the show.
WINNER: Daniel Bryan
