NEWS: Jinder Mahal Trolled on Wikipedia
NEWS: In the aftermath of Jinder Mahal's shocking WWE Championship win over Randy Orton at last night's WWE BackLash pay-per-view, fans took to social media in droves to express their displeasure and dissatisfaction. The ranting and raving did not stop at Facebook and Twitter; however, as some over zealous fans even took to Wikipedia to alter Jinder Mahal's page. Fans made the following changes to Mahal's Wikipedia page:
- Jinder was referred to as the current WCW Champion
- “The Juice” and “Juiced Up” were added to his nicknames, which are obvious steroid allegations
- Someone thought it would be prudent to announce that Jinder was in a gay relationship with Jerry Lawler
- At one point Jinder's name was changed to Frank the Clown
- His name was changed to “Triggered Orton Fanboys”
- His name was changed to Juan Carlos
- His name was changed to Jinder Expensive
- His heritage was listed as “Mexican American”
- He was listed as a member of the WWE Divas division
- In the paragraph about his pursuit of the WWE Championship it read, “Mahal took $9.99 from smarks everywhere by becoming WWE Champion in a lowkey lit match”
- His biography read “Your WWE Champion and the Emperor of Earth. Jinder will no longer be hindered.”
- His biography also read “he also takes steroids but WWE seems not to care.”
While there were many changes made to Jinder's Wikipedia they were all removed from the page relatively quickly. WWE fans who are mired in an apparent state of shock shouldn't be. Cheap Heat Wrestling reported that Jinder would likely be the next WWE Champion way back on April 19th. The WWE is serious about reaching the largely untapped Indian market and are so impressed with Mahal's work ethic (not steroids: work) that they are giving him an opportunity to run with the proverbial ball. WWE should also take some responsibility for the ire of their own fans. Mahal has been booked terribly since debuting on the main roster in 2011, almost never winning any matches. It's difficult for fans to take him even remotely seriously because he spent the better part of the last six years as a jobber and underdog stories work better with babyfaces than heels. Still, Mahal has had a meteoric rise since WrestleMania 33 in April, where he was the last man to be eliminated in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. He is now one of the WWE's top heels and drawing heat isn't a bad thing when it comes to being a heel champion. Mahal will now likely have to endure a rematch with Randy Orton before feuding with his former tag team partner, Rusev.
