NEWS: NXT Star to Get Call Up Much Sooner than Anticipated
NEWS: Aleister Black has been so impressive in his limited NXT action that the WWE is already discussing moving him up to the main roster. This is significant especially in light of recent all star talent that stayed in NXT for an extended period of time, sometimes longer than a year, before getting the call up. These include Shinsuke Nakamura, Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Bayley, Sasha Banks and others. Bobby Roode and Drew McIntyre, already accomplished stars in their own right, look to spend a significant time in NXT before receiving a call up, as does the longest reigning champion in NXT history, Asuka. Our sources indicate that this is simply not the case with Black. WWE feels that Black is ready for a call up now and some recognize him as an instant star and championship contender on either the RAW or SmackDown brand. William Regal recently stated the following about Black,
"We look for a lot of things, but the number one thing that we look for — and if I suggest anybody to Paul, he will always say it — ‘Do they actually look like they can beat somebody up?’ Because the key thing to what we do, and there’s a lot of wrestlers out there, unfortunately, who will get offended by this, but they just don’t look like they can do anything physical to anybody. Some of that just comes with time. Over time, your face hardens up and you just look more like a fighter. Aleister just fits that bill because that’s what he is. He is a kickboxer, and he’s been through the wars a bit. You can just see life in his face.”Triple H, being coy, stated the following,
"Aleister Black is very talented. I think he is going to be a player."Sources indicate that some in the WWE, in particular Triple H and those in his circle, are higher on Aleister Black than they've been on any wrestler since an emerging John Cena. Those same sources indicate a call up to the main roster is not only imminent; but, will occur sometime very soon and in a manner sure to shock the WWE Universe to its very core.
