NEWS: Two Wrestling Legends Honored by Minor League Baseball Team

NEWS: The Kane County Cougars play their home games nestled in beautiful suburban Geneva, IL. Located 47 miles from Wrigley Field, the Friendly Confines the Cubs call home, the Cougars have produced their share of big league talent including; Miguel Cabrera, Adrian Gonzalez, Kyle Schwarber, Josh Beckett, Dontrelle Willis, Scott Podsednik, A.J. Burnett, and many others. The Cougars are an affiliate of MLB's Arizona Diamondbacks and despite very un-Arizona weather yesterday evening, the team hosted a Pro Wrestling Night, something that has become a tradition for the Cougars. Special guests of honor last night included Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake and WWE Hall of Famer, Greg "the Hammer" Valentine. The two once teamed in the WWE as the Dream Team. Despite the wet weather, which included severe weather alerts and torrential downpours, Valentine and Beefcake signed for all the fans who braved the elements to meet two of their wrestling heroes. The two even teamed to throw out the first pitch of the game. The Cougars host a Pro Wrestling night annually; but, response has been so positive that fans won't have to wait another year to meet their favorite wrestling stars of yesteryear. The team has announced that the next Pro Wrestling Night will occur this July 13th. WWE Hall of Famer "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan will be that evening's guest of honor. The 2x4 lugging Hall of Famer will pose for photographs and sign autographs for fans before the game. Fans interested in attending can purchase tickets HERE.
