NEWS: Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks may live to regret their attempt to crash RAW last week. They, along with Cody Rhodes, Brandi Rhodes, Marty Scurll, and Adam Page (the Bullet Club) arrived in a stretch Hummer to address fans waiting outside the Ontario, CA RAW show. The raucous event was planned without WWE's permission and included the group shouting their attempts to save Finn Balor (former Bullet Club member) from the WWE over a megaphone. Cheap Heat Wrestling can confirm that individuals in WWE's front office, including Vince McMahon, were incensed over what the group did and particularly angry with Cody Rhodes, whose behavior was described anonymously as "very disappointing." Rhodes, a former WWE Superstar, isn't even allowed to use the last name "Rhodes" in his indie booking due to WWE technically owning the name. While the WWE may have been flexible with Cody before, word is that they will now never allow him to use the name and unless there is serious contrition, have no interest in ever bringing Rhodes back (if he ever desires to return). WWE's legal team will be watching Rhodes closely to see if he infringes on any intellectual copyrights by using the last name his father Dusty invented and popularized. Immediately following the RAW incident, the Young Bucks were sent with a cease and desist letter from WWE's legal team. The WWE claims the Young Bucks' use of the "too sweet" symbolism is an infringement on their intellectual property rights. They are asking the Young Bucks to stop using it in-ring and on any merchandise or risk penalties in excess of $150,000 USD. The Young Bucks have been using the gesture for the duration of their career and have borrowed liberally from some of their WWE heroes including the NWO and D-X. The WWE may have difficulty proving the "too sweet" symbol is their intellectual property as the late former singer of Black Sabbath, Ronnie James Dio, popularized the symbol in the late 1970s after learning from his Sicilian grandmother that it was a sign to ward off evil. Video of the now infamous RAW crash appears below.
