NEWS: Rusev in Hot Water with the WWE; May Not Return

NEWS: Rusev is currently nursing a shoulder injury that has kept him out of action since March and even kept him sidelined from this year's WrestleMania. Now word comes out of the WWE, that some in the front office are unhappy with Rusev for cutting his hair without permission. Talent is instructed to always consult the front office when making any significant alterations, as it may affect the creative direction of their character. This includes hair cuts. Rusev did not consult anyone and simply shed his locks without any consultation with his higher ups in the Company, leaving some to question his decision making. Rusev recently sat down for an interview with the WWE and said that he had no interest in transitioning to SmackDown LIVE unless he is given a championship opportunity. Apart from that opportunity, Rusev said that he would be fine going back to Bulgaria,

"The only way I’d come to SmackDown was if I was guaranteed a Championship match at Money in the Bank. Otherwise I’ll just pack my bags and go back home to Bulgaria.”

Rusev's injury is significant and he isn't expected back until the build up for SummerSlam this summer. If he were to wrestle at this year's Money in the Bank, his return would occur well in advance of what has initially been speculated. Meanwhile Rusev's real life wife Lana is set to receive her first big singles push on SmackDown LIVE.
