NEWS: Las Vegas rarely gets things wrong. If they did, they'd be out of business; but, instead gambling flourishes. An interesting event has been happening with the Las Vegas betting odds for this year's Royal Rumble. A non-competitor keeps climbing up the ranks and is now increasingly seen as a favorite to win this year's Royal Rumble. Daniel Bryan, whose WWE in-ring career ended due to severe concussions, keeps climbing the Las Vegas ranks. First, Bryan started out as a 66/1 favorite to win the Royal Rumble. To put that in perspective, Scott Steiner is also a 66/1 favorite to win the Royal Rumble and he won't be competing in a WWE ring anytime soon. Then something incredibly bizarre happened. Overnight, Daniel Bryan became a 9/1 favorite to win the Royal Rumble. To put that in perspective: Daniel Bryan, who is no longer an in-ring competitor, has better odds of winning this year's Royal Rumble than Bobby Roode (10/1), Seth Rollins (10/1), Kevin Owens (14/1), Sami Zayn (16/1), Brock Lesnar (20/1), and Rusev (25/1). While the feat is remarkable, Daniel Bryan still isn't the odds on favorite to win. Currently Las Vegas has Shinsuke Nakamura as the odds on favorite to win this year's Royal Rumble with 9/4 odds. Nakamura is followed by John Cena (10/3), Roman Reigns (10/3), Braun Strowman (5/1), Finn Balor (11/2), Dolph Ziggler (6/1), and A.J. Styles (8/1). Bryan's climb up the Vegas rankings may have something to do with his increasing involvement in a SmackDown storyline involving Shane McMahon, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn. There has also been increased chatter that if the WWE doesn't allow him to return to the ring before next year's WrestleMania, Bryan will compete elsewhere when his contract is up. There have been some rumblings of Bryan competing along-side Shane McMahon against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a tag team match at WrestleMania 34; but, as far as Daniel Bryan winning this year's Royal Rumble goes, we'll take CM Punk as a more likely candidate and for all intents and purposes, that is an impossibility.
