HOUR ONE
- Renee Young interviews A.J. Styles in-ring. Renee Young cuts right to the choice and asks about the fairness behind Daniel Bryan's decision to force Styles to defend his championship at a Handicap Match at the Royal Rumble against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Styles admits that he spoke too much before Bryan made the match and admits that he could lose the Title. Young presses him on the fairness of Bryan's decision; but, Styles doesn't answer directly, instead saying that life isn't fair. He does say that Bryan did not make a smart booking decision. When asked whether Bryan played favorites, Styles does not answer directly. When Young asks whether Shane McMahon is playing favorites, Styles again refuses to give a direct answer. Styles instead focuses his attention on beating Zayn and Owens at the Royal Rumble and when he begins pondering his victory, he is interrupted by Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Owens and Zayn focus on the fact that Styles was the person to originally suggest a handicap match. Owens reminds Styles that, "It would take a miracle for you to beat one of us, let alone both. Heaven does not give miracles out to people like you. You have no chance of walking out of the Royal Rumble with that Title." Owens instead promises to be the first ever co-WWE Champions. The two are the interrupted by Shane McMahon. McMahon calls the match unfair and expresses puzzlement as to why Daniel Bryan made the match in the first place. McMahon schedules a Handicap Match tonight: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, and A.J. Styles.
- Daniel Bryan stares down Shane McMahon backstage and questions his puzzlement. Bryan then shakes McMahon's hand and congratulates him for making a great main event with the aforementioned Handicap Match.
- Becky Lynch (with Charlotte and Naomi) defeats Ruby Riott (with Riott Squad) via submission
- Bludgeon Brothers defeat The Ascension after Luke Harper pins Viktor. Postmatch: The Bludgeon Brothers attack Connor, while he checks on the condition of his partner.
- UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT MATCH: Mojo Rawley defeats Zack Ryder via pinfall. Mojo Rawley advances to the next round of the tournament. He will next face Bobby Roode, who is ring-side watching this bout. Postmatch: Bobby Roode and Mojo Rawley engage in a staredown.
- Jinder Mahal cuts a promo on the United States Championship and his United States Championship Tournament Match against Xavier Woods, next week on SmackDown
HOUR TWO
- American Alpha make their way to the ring to voice their frustration over last week's "screwjob." They blame the referees for their loss last week. Daniel Bryan interrupts their promo. Bryan reiterates that the referee's decision is final. Bryan gives them a rematch at the Royal Rumble in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match.
- A.J. Styles and Randy Orton discuss strategy for tonight's Handicap Match. Orton suggests Styles trusts him tonight; but, also trust him that after he wins the Royal Rumble, he will come for the WWE Championship. Shinsuke Nakamura is also there and says, "Not so fast." He then pats the WWE Championship and says, "Good talk."
- Breezango defeats Rusev Day after Fandango pins Rusev
- Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan discuss tonight's show backstage. Daniel Bryan reiterates that he is impressed by Shane's main event. McMahon tells Bryan that the two are not on the same page and questions his recent decision making. McMahon asks Bryan if he is doing OK and questions Bryan's stability; but, Bryan questions his and points to McMahon's gene pool as an example. McMahon agrees to disagree and simply walks away.
- HANDICAP MATCH: Randy Orton, A.J. Styles, and Shinsuke Nakamura defeat Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn after Orton pins Zayn
