NEWS: His famous viral YouTube video has more than two million views and 27 year old self-taught drummer Brooks Farris has become an internet sensation. Catching fire seemingly overnight (although he has been playing for more than fifteen years), Farris' video features him drumming to a medley of one WWE entrance theme after the other. Without a moment to catch his breath, Farris goes from song to song without missing a beat, playing along with entrance themes from just about every major wrestler over the last three decades, from Edge to Kevin Owens to Sasha Banks to Shinsuke Nakamura. Cheap Heat Wrestling recently caught up with Farris to talk about drumming and the source from which he draws his inspiration: professional wrestling. Farris stated the following about his love for wrestling,
"I have always been drawn to wrestling music. It just seems like it's so powerful to us wrestling fans."Farris has his favorite wrestlers and they inspire him to be a better musician,
"Some of my favorites include A.J. Styles, Seth Rollins, and the Hardy Boyz."Farris especially gives credit to A.J. Styles,
"When you see someone, like A.J. Styles, at the elite level of his craft, it motivates you to work harder at whatever you pursue."We asked Farris what went into the making of his first viral YouTube video,
"I had the idea to make a wrestling theme song medley video for a few years. When I did the first video I actually didn't even own a drum set. I had to borrow almost everything and that was the first time I played in about 3 years. When that video started to get popular it was kind of a reason for me to start playing again."As wrestling fans began responding to the video, Farris began playing more and more and has since released several other wrestling themed videos. There are now twenty drumming videos available for viewing via his YouTube channel. Farris encourages wrestling fans to join more than thirty thousand other subscribers who are keeping up with his latest videos by subscribing to his YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/brooksfarris.
