NEWS: Wrestling Film to Get Red Carpet Treatment in New York
NEWS: The Trade is a new independent wrestling film that documents the career of "Sick" Nick Mondo, an independent star for the hyper-violent Combat Zone Wrestling. The film has already been lauded by critics, as it was a selected for the Lift-Off Film Festival, both in London in 2016 and Tokyo in 2017. The Trade's trailer has become an internet sensation with over 40,000 views and undoubtedly helped the film receive sell out screenings in both London and Tokyo. Directed by Matthew T. Burns (Nick Mondo), the film documents his own internal struggles as he comes to grip with his rise in wrestling, his retirement, and the ultra violence he helped to create. The Trade will screen privately tomorrow June 20th at 6:15PM EST exclusively at the prestigious Producer's Club in New York, New York. The film, which some compare to Mickey Rourke's The Wrestler, is currently negotiating a distribution deal that will bring The Trade to more fans world-wide; but, for now, the trailer can be seen below.
