NEWS: "I detected sexual tension." - Jerry Lawler on Renee Young & Kevin Owens
NEWS: It's been an interesting couple of weeks for the WWE Network's Talking Smack. The show, which was a post-SmackDown LIVE favorite and beloved by wrestling fans everywhere, was recently removed by WWE as a weekly show. The show which is known for its hard hitting unscripted fly by the handle moments will now air only after SmackDown LIVE brand pay-per-views. The last post pay-per-view edition of Talking Smack showed that the show will continue to feature highly controversial moments and never be short on drama. After Battleground, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "the King" Lawler and Renee Young co-hosted Talking Smack and their first guest was none other than Kevin Owens. Owens was a planned guest; but, Lawler and Young did an excellent job in feigning that Owens wasn't really invited and was indeed crashing the show. Owens and Young quickly became heated and went back and forth trading barbs in front of a mostly silent and apparently shocked Jerry Lawler. Kevin Owens insulted Renee's hair and Renee came back at Owens over and the two Canadians went at each other repeatedly throughout the segment. In the latest edition of Jerry Lawler's Dinner with the King podcast, the King stated the following,
"When I was sitting between Kevin Owens and Renee Young and listening to them go back and forth all could think, all that was going through my mind is that it sounds like me and my fiancé Lauren. I don't know if you picked up on it; but, I detected sexual tension there."Lawler's co-host then audibly groans and Lawler replies,
"I'm serious. They were bickering; but, you could tell they really like each other."The only problem with Lawler's assertion is that both Kevin Owens and Renee Young are married and not to one another. Owens has been married to his wife Karina since 2007 and Renee Young is married to none other than Owens' fellow WWE Superstar Dean Ambrose. If there is indeed sexual tension between Young and Owens it will be interesting to see what their spouses think. Whether there was sexual tension or not, wrestling fans can be their own judge, as they can watch the segment in its entirety below.
