HOUR ONE
- Kevin Owens makes his way to the ring with his newly regained United States Championship in hand. "I proved at Battleground that when your heart is pure and you're a good person, good things will happen and they did when I took my title back from that thief A.J. Styles." Owens then re-instates the United States Championship Open Challenge; but, waits until next week. He berates the Virginia crowd and tells them he would never defend his Title against a bunch of hicks from Richmond; but, is then interrupted by A.J. Styles, who makes his way to the ring demanding a rematch. Owens; however, refuses to defend his Title. Then none other than CHRIS JERICHO makes his way to the ring supported by a raucous ovation. Owens objects; but, Jericho quiets him, "This isn't Montreal. This is America! Shut your mouth!" Jericho remember leaving on a stretcher; but, has now returned after months of rehabilitation. He wants his rematch; but, Styles objects. Jericho responds by adding Styles' name to The List. Owens simply leaves the ring; but, is met by Shane McMahon, who makes a Triple Threat Match between Styles, Owens, and Jericho tonight on SmackDown.

- Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Baron Corbin via pinfall

- Naomi is interviewed backstage about her SummerSlam match with Natalya. Naomi is mad about the disrespect she received from Natalya after she refused to shake her hand at Battleground. Natalya interrupts the interview and calls Naomi disrespectful toward everything wrestling's history stands for. Naomi replies, "You are so stuck in the dungeon of the past that you fail to recognize the now and the future." Carmella then interrupts with her Money in the Bank in tow to remind Naomi that she is still there.

- Charlotte & Becky Lynch defeat Lana & Tamina after Charlotte pins Lana. Postmatch: Tamina screams at a dejected Lana

HOUR TWO
- Jinder Mahal makes his way to the ring and brags about defeating Randy Orton. Mahal wants to know who he will face at SummerSlam. He is then interrupted by John Cena who actually comes out congratulating Mahal for being a champion that would do whatever it takes to hold on to his championship; however, John Cena announces that the two will fight at SummerSlam. Cena guarantees a victory and an inevitable 17th championship reign. As Cena leaves the ring, Daniel Bryan's music hits and Bryan informs Cena that he doesn't make the matches. He tells John Cena, "Here on SmackDown LIVE, opportunities are earned, even if your name is John Cena." Daniel Bryan announces that Cena will face Shinsuke Nakamura next week on SmackDown LIVE, with the winner facing Jinder Mahal at SummerSlam.

- Shane McMahon is on the phone backstage when he is interrupted by a frenetic Kevin Owens. Owens believes the match has been scheduled only for purposes of revenge. Owens believes the match not to be fair. McMahon replies by saying, "I do not care about who the United States champion is so long as it's defended on SmackDown LIVE. I care about putting on great matches for the audience." Owens tells McMahon that he doesn't care about him or what he thinks and the two stand toe-to-toe as the camera cuts out.

- Sami Zayn & Tye Dillinger defeat Mike Kanellis (with Maria Kanellis) & Aiden English after Zayn pins Kanellis

- The New Day attempt to make their way to the ring for a Championship Celebration; however, never make it, as they are attacked by the Usos.

- Renee Young interviews Shinsuke Nakamura about his match with John Cena next week. Shinsuke Nakamura says, "Next week, John Cena, you can't see me which means I will see Jinder at SummerSlam."

- TRIPLE THREAT MATCH: A.J. Styles defeats Kevin Owens & Chris Jericho after pinning Jericho. A.J. Styles is the NEW United States Champion. Postmatch: Owens cries foul and claims the entire match to be unfair. He accuses Styles of stealing his victory and once again insults the Richmond, VA crowd. He asks for a United States Championship rematch next week.
