HOUR ONE
- A.J. Styles and Dolph Ziggler are involved in an altercation backstage.
- Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan make their way to the ring as most of the roster awaits them inside of the ring. They are introducing three new titles to the SmackDown brand: the SmackDown World Tag Team Champions and the SmackDown Women's Championship. The Women's Champion will be declared after a 6-Pack Challenge, which will take place at Backlash. There will be a tournament for the Tag Team Championships, with the two finalists also battling at Backlash. They are all interrupted by Heat Slater, who wants a title. Daniel Bryan informs him that he isn't "equipped" to challenge for the SmackDown Women's Championship. Shane McMahon informs him that he is also ill equipped to challenge for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships as he is not on the roster and also lacks a tag team partner. Heath responds by guaranteeing he will find a partner and further guaranteeing that he and his partner will win the entire tournament. Shane McMahon will allow Heath Slater to find a partner; but, will only give him a roster spot if he wins the entire tournament. A.J. Styles makes his way to the ring; but, before he could get there, he is attacked by Dolph Ziggler.
- Becky Lynch defeats Alexa Bliss via submission. Naomi and Natalya are on commentary.
- Heath Slater is backstage with the Miz; however, the Miz is busy taking a phone call with a movie agent, who promises that Miz will be the next Indiana Jones
- Tag Team Tournament: The Usos defeated the Ascension after Jimmy Uso pinned Viktor
- A.J. Styles is in the ring to cut a promo on his victory over John Cena and Dolph Ziggler's jealousy. Styles proclaims himself as the new face that runs the place and declares himself the #1 contender to Dean Ambrose's WWE Championship. Ziggler makes his way out of the ring and wants a piece of Styles. He is stopped by Daniel Bryan, who makes a #1 contender's match between Ziggler and Styles. If Styles wins, he will be the #1 contender. If Ziggler wins, he will be added as a #1 contender as well.
- Nikki Bella vs Carmella never officially gets underway. As Renee Young attempts to interview Nikki, Nikki is blindsided by Carmella, who proceeds to viciously attack Nikki in a double turn.
HOUR TWO
- Randy Orton makes his way to the ring to cut a promo on Brock Lesnar. He is interviewed by Bray Wyatt; but, just as it looks like the two may go at it, Wyatt leaves in the darkness.
- Shane McMahon is interviewed backstage and is angry at Stephanie McMahon for not taking Brock Lesnar's actions seriously. He states that the feud between he and Lesnar is not over.
- Heath Slater is seen backstage trying to get Arn Anderson (of 4 Horsemen fame) to be his tag team partner; but, when that doesn't work, Rhyno offers his services. Of course, Slater agrees.
- Tag Team Tournament: American Alpha defeat Breezango after Gable pinned Breeze
- Dean Ambrose is interviewed backstage. He will be on commentary for tonight's A.J. Styles vs Dolph Ziggler match.
- A.J. Styles defeats Dolph Ziggler via pinfall to become the #1 contender to Dean Ambrose's WWE Championship. Styles and Ambrose end SmackDown with a stare down.
