She was a force to be reckoned with earning the moniker the 9th Wonder of the World (Andre the Giant was the 8th Wonder of the World.) Chyna was a former Women's Champion, the first woman to enter the King of the Ring and the Royal Rumble. Chyna is the only woman to ever hold the Intercontinental Championship. After her WWE career ended, Chyna tested the waters of reality television on VH1's Surreal Life and the show Celebrity Rehab, where her struggles with addiction were documented before a massive television audience. Chyna posed for Playboy magazine and also found herself in the adult film industry, where she performed in six adult movies from 2004 to 2013. Her well publicized struggles with addiction and her adult film career caused her relationship with the WWE to sour. Although her accomplishments were obviously Hall of Fame worthy, the WWE (led by Laurer's former real life boyfriend Paul "Triple H" LeVesque) essentially ignored her for years. The Company issued the following statement on Chyna's passing, "WWE is saddened to learn of reports that Joanie Laurer, best known for competing in WWE as Chyna, has passed away. A physically striking and wildly talented performer, Chyna was a true sports-entertainment pioneer. Not only did the Superstar dubbed “The Ninth Wonder of the World” help found the groundbreaking faction D-Generation X, but she also holds the distinction of being the first and only female to win the Intercontinental Championship. WWE extends its condolences to Laurer’s family, friends and fans." R.I.P. Joanie "Chyna" Laurer - 12/27/1970 - 4/20/2016.
