NEWS: TNA's Billy Corgan Compares Social Justice Advocates to the KKK, praises Donald Trump
NEWS: TNA's Billy Corgan is in some hot water after appearing on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones' show. Corgan isn't a fan of social justice advocates who take to Twitter to express their opinions on justice related issues facing today's world. Corgan called them Maoists who carry a red book in their hand, obviously playing the role of Joe McCarthy in implying that social justice advocates are communists. Corgan, who is against social justice advocates using their free speech rights on social media platforms, stated, "Lack of tolerance of ideas and other points of view is the great Achilles heel of the social justice warrior movement." Corgan went on to suggest that the social justice movement, "Makes up stories about ghosts that do not exist." Corgan continued, "I'm not saying America doesn't have a racist bent, so let's put that out there to start with, but let's go back to a time where racism was accepted, it was institutionalized. OK? If you could go back to Selma 1932, and the Klan member spitting in some person of color's face, don't you think that guy thought he was right, too? Ok. So how is this any different?" It should be noted that the KKK are a terror organization that spent much of its history hanging black people from trees and burning crosses in an effort to scare black families away from white neighborhoods. In a separate interview Corgan praised Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump. Corgan stated, "I think what's cool is Trump's running chaos theory. He's forcing a lot of things out into the open, so they can't control this, whatever that control is. It's like the music business: everybody gets controlled, and somebody comes along that fucks it all up. So I think it's good that he's fucking it up, because whether or not he's the guy, obviously the political class doesn't want him there, it'll open it up to a bigger dialogue. Whether anybody agrees or not, the rating on that debate was 24 million. It was eight times higher than the first Republican debate of the last cycle. It was highest non-sports related cable rating of all time. That means people are engaged." Trump, who has arguably become more famous for his flamboyant bigotry than his acumen as a businessman, has recently called for a ban on all Muslims entering the United States and has expressed a desire to "round up" Mexican immigrants in a wide-spread deportation program.
