NEWS: Mauro Ranallo May Have Been Pushed Over the Edge by a Familiar Bully

NEWS: It has been long documented that WWE SmackDown announcer Mauro Ranallo suffers from bipolar disorder, a malady he was diagnosed with when he was just 19 years old. The WWE knew this before signing Ranallo and believed Ranallo was such a talented announcer that the benefit of having him on the SmackDown Live show far outweighed any potential risks associated with bipolar disorder. The WWE has been understanding and supportive in Ranallo's absence, although they haven't been particular forthcoming with fans. Ranallo's SmackDown commentating partner JBL; however, has proven to be a difficult individual to work with for Ranallo and many others throughout the years. Ranallo won the Wrestling Observer Announcer of the Year Award for the second year in a row and dared to retweet the accomplishment. Ranallo's retweet must have triggered JBL because backstage sources indicate that JBL went off the deep end regarding Ranallo's retweet. JBL was so incensed that he even blocked his SmackDown colleague on Twitter. This; however, is not uncommon for JBL. He has blocked numerous fans for even the slightest bit of criticism over his announcing work. JBL then took to his WWE Network Show Bring it to the Table and went on a tirade against Ranallo, all over the Wrestling Observer tweet. When Ranallo missed the March 14th show due to bipolar disorder, his partner wasn't supportive. JBL tweeted, "I made the show. Everyone made the show, everyone." JBL is no stranger to bullying. He is legendary for his hazing of incoming WWE Superstars. One alleged bullying incident has long become a part of wrestling lore and is so egregious in nature, it can be described as borderline sexual assault. When WWE Superstar Edge first made his way to the WWE, he hit the showers and was followed by JBL, who allegedly began to lather Edge's backside with soap and tell the young rookie that he must "perform" certain acts now that he made his way to the main roster. Allegedly, young Palmer Cannon quit the WWE because he could no longer take the abuse he received at JBL's hands. JBL has allegedly victimized dozens of wrestlers over the years including the Miz and the Blue Meanie. Ranallo is only the latest victim of JBL's chronic bullying, which the WWE must finally address before it causes a law suit or worse, someone's suicide. There was never any place for bullying; but, there is especially no place for bullying in 2017 where much of society has come to recognize its lack of civility. Perhaps Ranallo should be replaced by Joey Styles during his absence. Joey Styles allegedly became so incensed with JBL's constant bullying that he threw a punch at JBL, knocking the former WWE Superstar out cold. He stood up to JBL, which is more than what the WWE has ever done.
