NEWS: Cody Rhodes Asks for His WWE Release
NEWS: Cody Rhodes has announced via Twitter that has he asked the WWE for his release. Rhodes (who currently wrestles as Stardust) tweeted the following:
(1/2) The past ten years have been quite the trek, but as of earlier today I have asked for my release from @WWE— Hyrule Husky (@PrinceCGR) May 21, 2016
As stated Rhodes has been with the Company for ten years; but, the Rhodes family has strong WWE ties, having been involved with the WWE since for the majority of the time, since the late 1980s. Cody's late father, WWE Hall of Famer, Dusty worked as a booker and agent until his death in 2015. Cody's brother Dustin Runnels (Goldust) still works for the Company and is currently involved in a major on-screen angle with R-Truth, Fandango, and Tyler Breeze. WWE has yet to comment on Cody's request for a release.(2/2) I'll speak further on the matter shortly. Thank you to all the pro-wrestling/sports entertainment fans worldwide. Thank you— Hyrule Husky (@PrinceCGR) May 21, 2016
