NEWS: Vince McMahon Unloading WWE Stock; No Longer Majority Shareholder
NEWS: Vince McMahon is unloading his WWE stock in astronomical numbers. McMahon recently sold over 2 million of his own personal shares in the company, or over $30 Million USD in stock. McMahon now own only 48.8% of the Company, the first time since the WWE went public in 1999 that he does not own a majority in the Company's stocks. McMahon did inform the board that he intends to continue in his capacity as the Company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for the foreseeable future. It has been rumored; however, that there are interested parties in acquiring the WWE from the McMahon Family, who have had a power hold on the WWE since the early 1950s. One of those parties is media mogul John de Mol, whose company Talpa Beheer already owns 6% of the Company.
